Welcome to East Stokes Outreach Ministry (ESOM) - we’re so glad you’re here!

ESOM was born out of a partnership between local churches and caring members of the Walnut Cove community in 1989. From the beginning, our purpose has been simple yet powerful: to provide food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to neighbors facing tough times in the eastern part of Stokes County, while reflecting the love of Christ.

We’ve been blessed with incredible support over the years — from churches, generous individuals, local businesses, community food drives, and the proceeds from our thrift store. Every can of food, every clothing donation, every dollar given has helped us open our doors and our hearts to those in need.

Our journey has been full of God’s provision. In 2012, when our food pantry building was torn down, our offices temporarily moved to Family Pharmacy on Main Street. With faith and determination, we launched a capital campaign — and on September 29, 2014, we celebrated the ribbon cutting for our new food pantry.

Today, ESOM continues to live out its mission: meeting urgent needs, offering opportunities for youth and adults to serve, and most importantly, sharing the love and hope of Christ.
